The Bass Federation Inc. (TBF) is the oldest and largest organized grassroots angling organization in America, which has provided the foundation for the bass fishing industry for more than 40 years. TBF is owned by those it serves and is dedicated to the sport of fishing. We are very proud to be sponsor/partnered with FLW. The Wisconsin State Bass Federation was founded in 1975 and consists of individual bass clubs located through out the state of Wisconsin, as well as other bordering states over the years. These clubs conduct many adult, youth and conservation events each year, along with numerous bass tournaments.
Our organization provides both new and experienced anglers with an affordable entry level into the sport of tournament bass fishing, fostering the spirit of friendship, learning and conservation while still giving weekend anglers a chance to compete in bigger tournaments. Our Federation hosts a variety of regional and state tournaments around the state where members from our clubs get together to compete at a higher level and build friendships with fellow bass anglers from all around the state. Wisconsin Bass Federation members have the opportunity to qualify for spots on the State Team that represents Wisconsin at the TBF National Semi-Finals.
The top Wisconsin Boaters and Non-Boaters each year go on to compete at the TBF National Championship where they have a chance to win the Living the Dream Package and qualify for the Forrest Wood Cup with a first place prize of $500,000.
Our purpose includes
- To educate our youth and the general public on the joys of fishing
- To teach boating and fishing safety, ethics and good sportsmanship
- To improve the environment and fish habitat and protect it from harmful change
- To educate and aid the development of youth for the respect of our national environment and appreciation of basic rules of honesty, integrity, and fair play
Our chapter clubs are located throughout Wisconsin. Each chapter club is run independently and they are all a little different. Some have frequent local club tournaments, some like to travel and do their club tournaments in just 3 weekends, or some clubs may even use standings of other series as their club tournaments to meet the needs of those who prefer bigger tournaments. We encourage you to look around to find the club that meets your interest, or with just 6 members you can even start you own new club! Your membership in our organization is welcome.
